Kit Homes Tasmania

We supply steel kit homes throughout Tasmania, from Hobart and Launceston through to smaller towns and rural areas across the state.

Tasmania has quite different building conditions to much of mainland Australia. The cooler climate, coastal exposure and local site conditions all need to be taken into account when planning a new home. The requirements can also change considerably depending on whether you’re building around Hobart, near the coast or on a rural block.

Our steel kit homes can be engineered to suit the requirements of the individual building site, including the appropriate wind classification.

Kit Homes Tasmania – Built for Local Conditions

Steel framing is strong, durable and well suited to kit home construction. It won’t rot, warp or shrink and isn’t affected by termites or borers.

In Tasmania, insulation is obviously an important consideration as well. The insulation, glazing and other energy-efficiency requirements for the home can be worked through as part of the design and specification process.

If you’re building in a bushfire-prone area, the BAL rating of the property may also affect some of the materials and specifications required for the home.

Choosing a Kit Home

We have a large range of designs, including smaller homes, family homes, country-style homes and designs that work well on coastal or rural properties.

You don’t necessarily have to build the standard plan exactly as shown. If you find a design that’s close to what you’re after, we can look at changes to the layout or other modifications before the home goes through the final drafting and engineering process.

This can be particularly useful in Tasmania where the slope of the block, orientation, views and access can have a big influence on the home you choose.

Kit Home Delivery Throughout Tasmania

We can arrange delivery throughout Tasmania, including Hobart, Launceston, Burnie, Devonport, Clarence, Glenorchy, Kingston, Ulverstone, Wynyard and George Town, as well as many smaller towns and rural areas.

We also service locations including Huonville, New Norfolk, Sorell, Smithton, Scottsdale, Sheffield, Deloraine, Longford, Port Sorell, Queenstown and the Huon Valley. The original site also covered many of these regional Tasmanian locations.

Your kit is packed and transported to the site ready for construction. Freight will depend on the size of the home, the delivery location and access to the property.
