That’s why your kit home can be engineered for the conditions of your particular site. Depending on where you’re building, this may include specific wind classifications, coastal requirements or additional insulation for colder areas. If your property is in a bushfire-prone area, the Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) rating will also need to be taken into account. Steel framing is non-combustible, with other parts of the home selected to meet the BAL requirements that apply to your site.
There’s a lot to like about steel framing. It’s strong, straight and durable, and unlike timber it won’t rot, shrink, twist or warp. Steel is also not susceptible to termites or borers.
